Melissa & Martyn’s asked me to be her wedding photographer at the fabulous (White Chimnies, Lask Edge, Biddulph Moor, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, ST13 8QQ) after they saw my photos from one of her friends weddings that I photographed in last year.
Unfortunately, it rained and it rained and it rained shortly from bridal preparation and during the ceremony. No bother though, Melissa & Martyn had a wonderful day and, surrounded by their loving friends and family the wedding went off without a hitch.
After we arrived at the White Chimnies and luckily, by then the weather had started to clear and the forecast was for a very promising. I knew it would be a good day. The guests congregated in the marque that had been set up in case of inclement weather. Later, the staff at White Chimnies turned the venue into a gorgeous dining area for the wedding breakfast where the rest of the evening entertainment commenced.
Because I’m a documentary wedding photographer, this means it’s my responsibility to tell the story of the day, visually. I like to do this from the inside out, rather than the outside in and that means I like to deliver images that allow the Melissa & Martyn to see their wedding almost from the eyes of another guest. The only way to do this is to get right in to the action and get close images that really give an essence of the day both visually, but hopefully emotionally too.
Here’s a selection of my favourite images from the day. If you’re thinking of getting married at White Chimnies and like my style of documentary wedding photography, please get in touch to check my availability.
More images coming soon!
